Haven Demo
A small test satellite Vast flew from November 2025 to February 2026 to check Haven-1's key systems in orbit before launching the real station.
Why it matters
It gave Vast flight data on the power, radiation protection, radios and navigation software it plans to use on Haven-1, lowering the risk of the first crewed private station.
How the technology works
Haven Demo rode a SpaceX rideshare launch on November 2, 2025, and ran 49 test objectives. It then lowered its own orbit with an engine burn and deorbited in a controlled way into the South Pacific.
