Haven-2

Vast's proposed multi-module station, pitched to NASA as a successor to the ISS, starting with a module larger than Haven-1 and growing to a 7-meter-wide core.

Why it matters

NASA plans to buy station services from companies after the ISS retires. Haven-2 is Vast's bid for that contract and for keeping people in orbit continuously rather than on short visits.

How the technology works

Vast plans to launch a first module about 5 meters longer than Haven-1, then add more modules over several years, followed by a 7-meter-diameter core module. Its plans depend on winning NASA's Commercial LEO Destinations program.
