Bolt

A family of modular solid-fueled rockets X-Bow flies to test hardware at high speed and altitude.

Why it matters

Defense programs need flight tests for hypersonic components and other hardware, and X-Bow reports a multi-year backlog of such tests. Bolt also proves X-Bow's own motors in flight.

How the technology works

Bolt is a family of modular boost rockets built around X-Bow's own solid motors, such as the 32-inch Ballesta. They fly suborbital paths with test payloads aboard.
