ThinAir GT2517
Airborne satellite antenna for government and military aircraft that works across geostationary and medium Earth orbit networks.
Why it matters
Surveillance and command aircraft need secure data links that keep working if one satellite network is jammed or busy. Multi-orbit terminals give them a fallback.
How the technology works
The GT2517 uses ThinKom's VICTS antenna technology in a low-drag package. It completed SES's government certification for the O3b mPOWER medium Earth orbit fleet, and SES says it can also be used on its geostationary satellites.
