StriX
Synspective's 100 kg-class radar satellites, which image the ground in any weather, day or night.
Why it matters
Radar satellites keep working under clouds and at night, so they can show disaster damage quickly and track slow ground movement that threatens roads and other infrastructure. Synspective sells this data and analysis to governments and companies.
How the technology works
Each StriX satellite images by sending microwave pulses and processing the echoes. Synspective has launched 13 so far, all on Rocket Lab Electron rockets from New Zealand, toward a planned 30-satellite constellation.
