Spaceflux optical sensor network
Spaceflux's own telescopes on five continents that watch satellites and debris from low orbit to geostationary orbit, including in daylight.
Why it matters
Governments and operators want tracking data that does not depend on a single national catalog. A commercial network spread around the globe can revisit objects often and give independent confirmation of what is happening in orbit.
How the technology works
Spaceflux runs 70 cm class telescopes fitted with short-wave infrared cameras, which can see bright satellites against a daytime sky. The company says it tracks objects as small as 10 cm in geostationary orbit and 2.5 cm in low orbit, with data usually delivered within about 90 seconds through its Cortex platform.
