TALOS

AI agent that plays the role of an opponent in simulated space conflicts, so Space Force crews can train and rehearse responses to threats against their satellites.

Why it matters

Space operators have few chances to practice against a thinking adversary. A realistic simulated opponent lets crews rehearse often, and the Space Force has committed about $96 million across two 2026 contracts built around it.

How the technology works

TALOS runs on Slingshot's digital model of the space environment, which is fed by real tracking data. It generates and adapts threat behavior during exercises.

The Space Force's MENTAT program uses it for mission rehearsal and training under the Operational Test and Training Infrastructure effort.
