Slingshot Global Sensor Network
Hundreds of remotely run optical telescopes at sites on five continents that watch satellites and debris and feed Slingshot's tracking data.
Why it matters
Knowing exactly where satellites are, and spotting when one maneuvers, matters for avoiding collisions and for national security. A commercial network spread around the globe adds coverage that government sensors lack.
How the technology works
Small telescopes in protective domes run on their own through the night, photograph objects as they cross the sky, and send the measurements to Slingshot's software, which turns them into orbits and alerts. Slingshot said in October 2025 that it ran 204 sensors in 21 locations.
