Skyrora XL

A three-stage orbital rocket in development to put small satellites into sun-synchronous orbit. Skyrora targets a first launch from the UK in 2027.

Why it matters

If it flies, Skyrora XL would be the first British rocket to put satellites in orbit from UK soil, giving UK operators a domestic launch option.

How the technology works

Nine Skyforce engines burning hydrogen peroxide and kerosene power the first stage. A restartable upper stage can place payloads at a range of altitudes and inclinations.
