Pixxel's planned second-generation satellites, which add shortwave infrared imaging and radar to its hyperspectral lineup.
Why it matters
Shortwave infrared covers part of the spectrum that ordinary cameras miss, and radar can see through clouds, so Honeybee would widen what Pixxel can observe and sell.
How the technology works
SiliconANGLE reported in September 2026 that Pixxel will use its Series C to fund the Honeybee constellation, with the first satellite planned for launch the following year.
