OroraTech thermal satellite constellation
OroraTech's own fleet of small heat-sensing satellites, 20 in orbit by October 2026, that watch for new wildfires from early morning into late evening.
Why it matters
A fire caught early is cheaper and safer to put out. A dedicated fleet passing over at many times of day gives more chances to spot one soon after it starts.
How the technology works
Small satellites carry thermal sensors that detect heat from the ground by day, by night or through smoke. OroraTech reported ten satellites operating in May 2025 and 20 in orbit in October 2026, with its newest satellite adding morning coverage.
