Gravity-1
A solid-fuel rocket with four strap-on boosters that launches from a ship and can carry about 6.5 tonnes to low Earth orbit. Its third flight, in September 2026, put nine satellites in orbit.
Why it matters
It set the payload record for Chinese commercial rockets when it debuted, and it gives China's private sector a mid-sized rocket that can launch batches of constellation satellites, such as nine at once in 2026.
How the technology works
A solid-fuel core and four solid boosters fire together at liftoff; it was the first Chinese commercial rocket to use boosters. It launches from a mobile sea platform.
The third stage can be swapped for a kerosene and liquid-oxygen engine to lift heavier loads.
