OpenConstellation
A shared network of Earth-observation satellites built and run by Open Cosmos, where members who contribute satellites can draw on data from the whole fleet instead of only their own.
Why it matters
An organization that buys one satellite gets limited coverage. Pooling satellites gives members shorter revisit times and wider coverage for work on climate, energy and natural resources, and sharing the assets lowers the cost.
How the technology works
Member organizations contribute satellites, which Open Cosmos designs, launches and operates, and members keep priority tasking on their own satellites. Data from many of the company's missions, including all upcoming ones, feeds the shared network.
Users reach the imagery through Open Cosmos's DataCosmos platform.
