Observer satellites

Nara Space's 16U cubesat imaging platform, first flown as Observer-1A, which it sells to customers and uses for its own imagery service.

Why it matters

Via Satellite reported Observer-1A made Nara Space the first South Korean startup to launch a commercial 16U Earth observation satellite. Its flight record now backs the standard satellites the company sells to others.

How the technology works

A 16U cubesat carries an optical camera and images cities from low orbit on daily missions. Nara Space sells standard satellite platforms based on Observer-1A's flight heritage, and planned a twin, Observer-1B, plus a fleet of 100 small satellites within five years.
