YAM hosted payload missions

Loft's "Yet Another Mission" satellites carry several customers' sensors at once, so a company or agency can get a payload into orbit without buying a whole satellite.

Why it matters

Building and operating a satellite takes years and large budgets. Sharing one with other customers, and letting Loft handle the bus, launch and operations, lowers the cost and wait for flying new sensors.

How the technology works

Loft buys off-the-shelf satellite buses from outside makers and adds its Hub, a standard payload adapter, so payloads fit without redesigning the bus. It integrates and tests customer payloads at its facility in Golden, Colorado, books the launch, and flies the satellite, while customers task payloads through its Cockpit web software.

Loft's site says it has launched 16 satellites.
