Modular hybrid propulsion for small satellites
Compact hybrid-fuel thrusters and modular propulsion units that let small satellites and spacecraft change orbit, Letara's first product line.
Why it matters
Many small satellites carry no propulsion and cannot change orbit once released. A thruster with fuel that is safer to handle could let more of them raise orbits, dodge debris and deorbit at end of life.
How the technology works
The units use the same hybrid principle as Letara's launch engine, burning a plastic-based fuel (HTPB) with an oxidizer. Payload reported two spacecraft thruster designs in development, and Letara plans to fund its first in-space demonstration with its 2026 round.
