NEXUS
Katalyst's multi-mission robotic spacecraft, designed to change orbits, dock with other satellites and do robotic servicing with an arm and two payload bays.
Why it matters
A general-purpose servicer that can dock and work on satellites would let operators repair, move or inspect spacecraft instead of writing them off, and gives defense users a way to inspect objects up close.
How the technology works
Katalyst lists a Split Stewart Platform robotic arm, relative navigation sensors for rendezvous and proximity operations, a high-power bus and two payload bays. The company pairs it with software products for collision avoidance (SIGHT) and close inspection (SHIELD).
