Volans

A planned small launcher that the company says can carry up to 750 kg to low Earth orbit without any pyrotechnics or explosives on board.

Why it matters

Rockets free of explosives and toxic propellants are easier to ship, store and launch from new sites, which matters to a company in Southeast Asia without an established spaceport.

How the technology works

Volans uses the company's HTP/HRF-1 hybrid propulsion, pairing high-test peroxide with a solid fuel. The company quotes 750 kg to a 400 km, 40 degree orbit and a 10.6 cubic meter fairing.
