CHIMERA LEO

Epic's low-orbit tug that carries up to 300 kg of satellites from a rideshare drop-off to the altitude or orbital plane each customer wants.

Why it matters

Rideshare is the cheapest ride to orbit, but every passenger ends up in the same place. A low-cost tug lets small constellations spread out or reach orbits a rideshare does not serve.

How the technology works

CHIMERA runs on non-toxic propellants and Epic's own in-house propulsion system. Epic lists a Block 0 version with 200 m/s of delta-v at full payload and a Block 1 with 1,000 m/s for bigger maneuvers.

CHIMERA LEO 1 flew as a demonstration on Transporter-6.
