CHIMERA GEO
A larger CHIMERA tug designed to carry small satellites from transfer orbit to their slot in geostationary orbit, or to push small probes toward the Moon.
Why it matters
Small GEO satellites and lunar cubesats usually need an expensive dedicated launch. A tug that rides along on a common rideshare and does the rest could make those missions far cheaper.
How the technology works
CHIMERA GEO uses higher-performance propulsion than the LEO version. Epic lists 1,800 m/s of delta-v with 300 kg aboard and 4,600 m/s with 60 kg, enough for GTO-to-GEO or trans-lunar injection of a CAPSTONE-sized payload, at a listed flyaway price of $1.5M for a single payload.
