EOS SAT
EOSDA's optical imaging satellite program, built mainly for vegetation monitoring; EOS SAT-1 launched in early 2022, is in operation and feeds the company's crop and forest analytics.
Why it matters
Owning a satellite tuned for crops gives an analytics firm imagery on its own schedule instead of only buying from others, which matters for timely in-season farm decisions.
How the technology works
EOS SAT-1 flies a sun-synchronous orbit and images in 11 spectral bands. EOSDA plans a fleet of seven optical satellites and combines its own images with optical, radar and thermal data from over 20 partner fleets inside its software.
