Reaction wheels
A range of reaction wheels, spinning flywheels that turn a satellite without fuel, now sized for satellites up to about one ton.
Why it matters
Constellation builders need reaction wheels in volume and on short schedules. CubeSpace quotes 8 to 12 week lead times on standard orders, which can keep satellite production lines moving.
How the technology works
An electric motor speeds up or slows a flywheel; by conservation of momentum the satellite rotates the opposite way. CubeSpace sells the wheels alone or inside its full ADCS, and first delivered its larger CW5000 wheel in 2024.
