Céleste
A pressurized capsule lifted by a stratospheric balloon to about 25 km, where a small group of guests would see the curve of the Earth during a six-hour flight.
Why it matters
It offers a view of space from far below the Kármán line, without rocket forces or training, and with much lower emissions per passenger than a rocket ride.
How the technology works
A large balloon lifts the capsule for about 1.5 hours, it floats near 25 km for about three hours, and then descends for about 1.5 hours. The company has flown crewed tests at lower altitude and plans public flights from 2027.
