Hosted Flamingo satellite-tracking sensors
Small wide-view space-surveillance sensors that Vyoma will put on other companies' satellites, so unusual maneuvers can be spotted quickly and handed to its Flamingo telescopes.
Why it matters
Riding on other satellites spreads many eyes around orbit cheaply. Combined with a fast optical data network, it can flag a suspicious maneuver quickly so it can be tracked more closely.
How the technology works
The miniaturized sensor suite has a wide field of view to watch many satellites at once. Under ESA's HydRON Element 3 work, its data travels over HydRON's low-latency optical links for near-immediate processing.
Detected anomalies are then passed to Flamingo satellites, or to ground radars, for closer tracking. DLR co-funds Vyoma's share.
