Hypersonic reentry testbed

Varda sells rides on its returning capsules to government labs that want real flight data on heat shields, sensors and navigation at hypersonic speed.

Why it matters

Ground facilities cannot fully reproduce the heat and speed of reentry. A capsule coming back from orbit gives repeated real-world test opportunities.

How the technology works

Test articles such as experimental heat shield tiles or navigation hardware are built into the capsule. They collect data as the capsule falls through the atmosphere at hypersonic speed, and the hardware is recovered after landing for inspection.
