UNA EXPRESS

Unastella's single-stage kerosene rocket line for short microgravity research flights. UNA EXPRESS-I flew in May 2025 and UNA EXPRESS-II aims for 100 km in 2027.

Why it matters

It is a privately built liquid-fuel rocket launched from a private site in South Korea, and Korea's national space agency flew components on it.

How the technology works

UNA EXPRESS-I burns kerosene with liquid oxygen in a pressure-fed combustor called VOLTA-52P and gives about 40 seconds of microgravity. The test vehicle was 9.45 meters long with a gross mass of about 2 tonnes.
