Orbital AI (SPACE:AI)
Ubotica's onboard AI platform that lets a satellite analyze its own images in orbit, send down only what matters, and re-point itself to take a closer look.
Why it matters
Satellites collect far more data than they can downlink, and waiting for ground analysis costs hours. Deciding on board means faster alerts and less wasted bandwidth.
How the technology works
Ubotica deploys compact AI models on processors aboard partner satellites. It says more than 30 Earth-observation models have run in orbit.
With NASA JPL and Open Cosmos it demonstrated dynamic targeting, where a satellite detects a target ahead and reorients to image it in about a minute with no ground involvement.
