Small satellite platforms
U-Space's small satellites, from 12U cubesats to platforms of about 140 kg, built and operated for French defense agencies, CNES and other customers. They include the 12U SOAP space observation cubesat.
Why it matters
France wants domestic suppliers for small military and science satellites. A builder that also operates them gives customers a complete service.
How the technology works
U-Space designs, builds and operates its satellites from Toulouse and has an 850-square-meter cleanroom called U-Zine for series production. Its first two satellites, including the 12U SOAP space observation platform, launched on a SpaceX Transporter rideshare in March 2025, with ten more due for delivery within the following year.
