HAPITH V

A planned three-stage hybrid rocket about 20 meters tall, designed for up to 390 kg to low Earth orbit or 350 kg to sun-synchronous orbit.

Why it matters

A launcher built at home would let Taiwanese satellites reach orbit without waiting for a seat on a foreign rocket. TiSPACE says its launch systems are 100 percent made in Taiwan.

How the technology works

All stages use TiSPACE's LELIEN hybrid engines, which burn a rubber-based SBR solid fuel with nitrous oxide: five on the first stage (650 kN total), four on the second (80 kN) and one on the upper stage (10 kN). The airframe is mainly carbon composite.
