Barracuda

A four meter, single-stage solid rocket that carries up to 40 kg of experiments on short flights above most of the atmosphere. It has flown twice from Nova Scotia.

Why it matters

Small sounding rockets let researchers and new spaceports test hardware and procedures without paying for an orbital launch. T-Minus flies them for microgravity research and hypersonic experiments.

How the technology works

Barracuda is a single solid-fuel stage. European Spaceflight cites an apogee of about 120 km, while Maritime Launch put the June 2026 flight's target at about 80 km for the same payload.
