Starlink
SpaceX's network of low-orbit satellites that sells internet service, aimed especially at places with little or no connectivity.
Why it matters
Starlink has become one of SpaceX's main businesses alongside launch. Starship began deploying larger next-generation Starlink satellites in 2026, and Elon Musk has said the network could eventually grow to about 100,000 satellites.
How the technology works
Satellites in low Earth orbit relay internet traffic between customers' dishes and the wider internet. Falcon 9 rockets launch Starlink satellites from Florida, and Starship put its first 26 next-generation V3 satellites into orbit on Flight 14 in September 2026.
