Tianlong-3
A kerosene rocket in the Falcon 9 size class, designed to lift about 17 tonnes to low orbit and eventually reuse its first stage. Its April 2026 debut failed.
Why it matters
China needs high-volume, lower-cost launch to build out its broadband megaconstellations. Tianlong-3 is one of a handful of private rockets aimed at that job.
How the technology works
Nine kerosene and liquid-oxygen engines power the first stage, and a second stage completes the climb to orbit. Space Pioneer says the rocket is designed to be reused at least 20 times.
