Whalers Way Orbital Launch Complex
Southern Launch's coastal launch site at the tip of the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia, approved for orbital launches to a wide range of orbits including polar and sun-synchronous.
Why it matters
Small launchers in Australia and Asia need nearby pads. A coastal site with little sea and air traffic can reach many orbit inclinations.
How the technology works
The site supports direct ascent to inclinations from 55 to 177 degrees, and its approvals initially allow up to 42 launches a year. South Korea's INNOSPACE has signed to fly missions from the site.
