Newry environmental test facility

Commercial lab offering vibration, shock, thermal vacuum and other environmental tests so satellite hardware can be qualified for launch and orbit.

Why it matters

Satellite parts must survive launch vibration and the vacuum and temperature swings of space. Small companies can wait a long time for slots at large test centers.

How the technology works

Hardware goes on shakers for vibration and shock tests, then into a thermal vacuum chamber that reproduces space conditions. The lab also runs fire, battery, pressure and climate tests.
