Environmental control and life support systems (ECLSS)

Modular life support hardware for crewed spacecraft and stations: air revitalization, ventilation, toxic gas monitoring, humidity control and water recycling.

Why it matters

Every private space station needs systems that recycle air and water reliably for years. Starlab, for example, aims to recycle at least 90% of its wastewater, and Paragon's water processors are being tested for that job.

How the technology works

Paragon designs common subsystems that can be reused across vehicles to cut cost and schedule. It is building the atmospheric ventilation system for NASA's Gateway HALO module, and its Alternative Urine Processor for Starlab is based on its Brine Processor Assembly on the ISS, recovering about 99% of water.
