Microgravity return capsule
Reusable free-flying satellite capsule with a modular payload bay that runs experiments or production in orbit for weeks to months and returns them to Earth.
Why it matters
As the ISS winds down, researchers and drug makers need other ways to work in microgravity. A reusable capsule that can fly on any available rocket could offer regular, repeatable access.
How the technology works
Customers' payloads sit in a modular, expandable payload bay. The capsule stays in orbit for weeks to months, then reenters and is recovered for reuse.
Outlier says it is developing and qualifying its first spacecraft, with a test flight targeted for 2028.
