OB-1 lunar lander mission

ORBITBeyond's planned first lunar payload delivery mission, listed for 2029 on a lander the company says can land precisely at south-polar sites.

Why it matters

More landers mean more rides to the Moon for science and industry payloads, including at the south pole.

How the technology works

The company advertises a lander platform with up to 1,000 kg of payload, 700 W of payload power and X-band data, plus power, data, mobility and 4G/LTE networking offered as services on the surface. It names Tec Masters as its partner for operating through the 14-day lunar night.
