GO-2 electric propulsion
A plug-in electric propulsion module for satellites from 6U CubeSats upward, used to deploy, reposition, dodge debris and deorbit.
Why it matters
Many small satellites still fly with no way to move. A drop-in thruster that needs no pressurized tanks or toxic fuel makes maneuvering affordable for them.
How the technology works
GO-2 uses field emission electric propulsion: a solid metal propellant is liquefied and ions are pulled off it by a strong electric field. Each roughly 1U module holds 40 individually controlled thrusters with their own propellant, giving 5 to 400 micronewtons of thrust on 7 to 40 W.
Morpheus says its core technology has been in orbit since 2018 and on customer missions since 2023.
