Spacefarer

Mission Control's web-based software that lets controllers and scientists command and monitor rovers and payloads. It has logged thousands of hours on analog missions on Earth and the company says it is supporting upcoming Moon missions.

Why it matters

Lunar missions are short and every hour counts. Shared tools that let distributed teams see data and command a spacecraft together help them get more science done.

How the technology works

Spacefarer has tools for live operation, building and running command sequences, and browsing mission data on a timeline, all served from the cloud. The related Spacefarer AI product runs machine-learning models on flight computers; the company says it has done this on two missions, one in Earth orbit and one on the lunar surface.
