Meridian constellation
A planned network of small 70 kg satellites that sells enterprise broadband, where customers can buy regional capacity or own the constellation outright.
Why it matters
Big broadband networks are expensive to build and mostly sell shared service. Meridian is betting that cheaper small satellites can give maritime, defense and telecom buyers dedicated capacity they control.
How the technology works
Each satellite carries an electronically reconfigurable reflectarray antenna rated for up to 1.1 Gbps downlink, using 5G non-terrestrial network standards. Kongsberg NanoAvionics agreed to build 280 satellites.
Meridian says Meridian Express satellite deliveries should start in 2027.
