Marble Imaging constellation
A planned fleet of very high resolution imaging satellites, 20 by the end of 2028, designed to photograph the same places up to every hour.
Why it matters
Europe buys much of its sharpest satellite imagery from U.S. providers. A European fleet with frequent revisits would give governments and businesses their own source for monitoring sites, coasts and terrain.
How the technology works
Each satellite carries visible, near-infrared and short-wave infrared imagers with onboard processing and a laser downlink. Marble is integrating a 50 cm resolution payload with Safran Reosc.
The first satellite is targeted for 2026, with 20 planned by the end of 2028.
