RS1

A small rocket meant to launch about 1,350 kg to low orbit from a containerized pad that could set up anywhere. Both orbital attempts failed and it no longer sells launches.

Why it matters

RS1 tested whether a low-cost small rocket that could launch from almost anywhere could win customers. ABL dropped it after two failed launches and stiff competition from SpaceX and Rocket Lab.

How the technology works

RS1 used ABL's own 3D-printed E2 engines and launched from GS0, a ground system packed into standard shipping containers that could turn a flat concrete pad into a launch site. Long Wall plans to reuse the design as a military target vehicle.
