Orbiter

Launcher's space tug and hosted-payload platform, built to carry small satellites from a rideshare drop-off to their own orbits. Vast planned to use it to test space station parts.

Why it matters

Orbiter let small satellites that share a rideshare launch reach orbits of their own. After buying Launcher, Vast planned to use it to test space station parts in orbit.

How the technology works

Orbiter was designed to carry customer satellites on a rideshare launch, then deploy them or keep them attached as hosted payloads. Launcher's site now says its operations focus on the E-2 engine, so Orbiter is no longer marketed.
