Zhuque-2E
LandSpace's working methane rocket, an improved Zhuque-2. It has carried ten satellites on one flight and has launched a batch of satellites for a Chinese satellite internet constellation.
Why it matters
Methane burns cleaner than kerosene and suits reusable engines. Zhuque-2 proved the fuel works in orbit, and the improved version gives LandSpace a rocket that flies paying missions while Zhuque-3 matures.
How the technology works
A two-stage expendable rocket that burns liquid methane and liquid oxygen. The first stage uses LandSpace's own TQ-12 engines.
The original Zhuque-2 was rated for about 6 tonnes to low Earth orbit.
