Kinéis satellites for connected devices
Twenty-five nanosatellites that pick up short messages and positions from low-power IoT devices anywhere on Earth, used for tracking animals, ships, equipment and environmental sensors.
Why it matters
Many monitoring jobs, from wildfire sensors to wildlife tags, happen far from any cell network. A low-power satellite link lets small battery devices report from those places.
How the technology works
Devices with a Kinéis-compatible module send brief messages that the nanosatellites receive as they pass overhead in low Earth orbit and relay to the ground. The system can also work out a device's location from its signal.
Commercial service began in summer 2025.
