Mira

A small, highly maneuverable spacecraft that carries other companies' payloads, drops them off in the orbits they need, or hosts them for the whole mission.

Why it matters

Rideshare launches leave every satellite in roughly the same orbit. Mira gives customers their own ride after separation, and the U.S. military has contracted it for responsive missions under its VICTUS SALO program.

How the technology works

Mira uses eight of Impulse's Saiph thrusters, which burn nitrous oxide and ethane, a non-toxic propellant pair. Impulse lists about 850 m/s of maneuvering capability with a 100 kg payload and up to 300 kg of payload.

It flew its first mission (LEO Express-1) in November 2023 and LEO Express-2 in January 2025.
