VISR
A reusable, multi-mission hypersonic aircraft designed to fly between Mach 5 and Mach 10.
Why it matters
Reusable hypersonic vehicles could make repeated test flights and, later, the first stage of a launch system much cheaper than single-use rockets.
How the technology works
VISR is planned as an aircraft powered by Hypersonix's SPARTAN hydrogen scramjets. It is meant to accelerate from Mach 5 to Mach 10 and be recovered for more flights.
