Gruithuisen Domes rover

A rover Honeybee is building for Firefly's 2028 Blue Ghost mission to the Gruithuisen Domes, carrying NASA's Lunar-VISE cameras and spectrometers.

Why it matters

A rover lets NASA instruments study several spots, including a crater rim across a boulder field, instead of only the patch beside the lander.

How the technology works

Firefly's Blue Ghost lander will set the rover down. The rover carries an infrared multispectral camera and a gamma ray and neutron spectrometer from NASA's Lunar-VISE suite, drives to a crater rim, then returns to repeat observations under different sun angles.
