Honda experimental reusable rocket

A 6.3 meter test rocket Honda R&D uses to learn how to land and refly rockets. It made its first launch and landing in June 2025; Honda says no decision to sell launches has been made.

Why it matters

It was Honda's first launch-and-landing test, and it brings a large manufacturer's engineering base to reusable launch.

How the technology works

The vehicle is 85 cm wide with a 900 kg dry mass and 1,312 kg fueled. It climbs, hovers and lands upright under engine power, testing the flight stability and landing control a reusable booster needs.
