Geesatcom satellites for connected devices
Low Earth orbit network of about 64 satellites that carries short messages and tracking data from Geespace's own chips, modules and terminals in vehicles, boats, collars and machinery.
Why it matters
Geespace builds the satellites, chips, modules and terminals itself and has backing from a large automaker, so it can sell a complete service for tracking vehicles, boats and machinery, including in places with no cell coverage.
How the technology works
Geespace says its first phase took six launches from 2022 to 2025 and covers nearly all of Earth except the poles. Its own chips, modules, antennas and handheld terminals link to the satellites.
The company claims capacity of about 340 million messages a day for up to 20 million users.
